Joo Day celebrations in Kirkkunummi and Oulu
Get loved up and inspired, follow your heart and say "Joo" – yes in Finnish – to whatever feels right in each moment. This year, the party vibes of our nationwide Joo Day swept through the Joo Hetki Café in Oulu and the Joo.Arena sports and leisure centre in Kirkkonummi.
At Joo Hetki, the celebrations continued all day with good food, company, and music. Meanwhile, in Kirkkonummi, people found new gaming buddies and enjoyed the opportunity to do various sports.

Bike maintenance by Fillaristudio in Toppilansalmi, Oulu, proved super popular with our residents, who got their bikes ready for the summer.
The beautiful summery weather pampered the Joo Day crowd in Oulu, providing ideal conditions for opening the terrace season. To enhance the summer vibes, we served new Joo-style cocktails and mocktails – the elegant Posh-Berry, refreshing Greenade, and sweet Mango Sunrise. Which one would you choose?
DJ Malsson entertained the party people at Joo Hetki starting from the afternoon, and Glitternisti offered them fabulous glitter make-up to add sparkle and glamour to the evening.
At Kirkkonummi's Joo.Arena, there were attractive offers and open doors at the gym throughout the day. Walk-in body composition measurements were very popular, and the well-being influencer and personal trainer Nadia Ammouri gave a free PT session to encourage people to test out new gym equipment.
Nadia shared three top tips for gym workout beginners:
- Take advantage of the personal trainer service to discover your own goals and assess your starting point.
- Find the best equipment for a good warm-up. For example, at Joo.Arena, the options include various rowing machines, exercise bikes, and treadmills.
- A good workout is built around your own goals and includes around six to nine exercises that can be varied. A good workout should make your muscles feel engaged but not leave you exhausted for the following days.
Influencer Mikael Sundberg challenged players on the padel court to discover a new hobby, while well-being influencer Kerttu Rissanen headed an energetic Les Mills BODYPUMP class, allowing people to sweat it out in a high-paced workout. The colourful lights of Joo.Arena's fitness studios inspired everyone to join in and exercise together.
After the group workout, it was time to unwind with fitness athlete and social media influencer Pernilla Böckerman in the dimly lit and relaxing yoga studio.
To conclude the evening, at a post-work wellbeing session, Pernilla shared her thoughts on listening to one's body and emphasised the importance of recovery. After her inspiring speech, the audience got to ask questions, sparking a lively discussion about different ways to stay active and exercise.
