Joo means solar energy! We're installing rooftop solar panels
Living in Joo Kodit homes is now greener than ever! We're installing solar panels in almost all our new buildings that will be ready this year, as well as adding them to 16 of our older properties in Turku, Nokia, Oulu, Vantaa, and Nurmijärvi.
The energy from these solar panels will power up the buildings, from heating water to lighting, keeping the air fresh, warming the saunas, and even making the lifts go up and down!
Did you know that if the roof of your home is equipped with solar panels and you've got electric car charging points in the yard, you can even charge your car on solar energy in sunny weather?
How else does Joo Kodit consider green issues?
Great question! We make sure to think green right from the construction stage. All our new buildings are super energy-efficient, as evidenced by their A energy rating. Geothermal heating saves energy in many of our properties, and we optimise indoor temperatures to ensure heat isn't wasted.
We're also boosting the sharing economy by offering Joo Kodit residents smart shared spaces and tools. And, of course, we make recycling super easy.
As a resident, you can take small measures to reduce your carbon footprint, too. Check out some easy tips for saving energy here.
