The new neighbourhood of Puroniitty is taking shape near the Nokia railway station. Planned ambitious development projects in the area include a travel centre, which will serve everyone from public transport and private vehicle users to pedestrians and cyclists. The cultural heritage of Nokia’s industrial past is acknowledged by preserving the historic factory buildings of the area.

The amenities of central Nokia are just one kilometre’s walk away, while the centre of Tampere can be reached in about 15 minutes by train. Besides excellent transport connections, the neighbourhood also offers beautiful nature walks along a stream in the nearby forest.
