Jenni Rotonen discovered a colourful home in a Joo Premium apartment

Jenni Rotonen

Moving was a breeze, with almost everything ready in our fully furnished Joo Premium apartment.

Rescue dog Heppu slips out through the door to greet us with a wagging tail and a request for a belly rub. We’re visiting the home of influencer Jenni Rotonen, known for her Pupulandia blog, in Kalasatama, Helsinki. It’s a familiar sight from her Instagram account, @jennipupulandia, where along with beauty and fashion, she also addresses social issues like mental health and responsible consumption. In fact, Jenni was named Sustainability Influencer of the Year 2024 at the Tubecon Awards.

Jenni, her partner, and Heppu moved to Kalasatama while their home in Kallio underwent plumbing renovations. Joo Kodit furnished a move-in ready Joo Premium apartment for them in As Oy Helsingin REDIn Loisto.

– Getting this place felt a bit like winning the lottery. We’ve been really happy here. Joo Premium was the ideal solution for our situation, and we couldn’t have imagined anything better, Jenni says.

Carefree rental living

Before finding this apartment, Jenni had explored various options but was surprised at how few furnished rental properties allowed pets. Joo Kodit was a welcome exception. The Joo Premium apartment, designed for business rentals, came fully equipped with furniture, appliances, kitchenware, bedding, towels, and cleaning supplies. Utilities and internet were also included.

– The furnishings are lovely and neutral, which I like. As I work in content creation, and my home appears a lot in my work, it would be difficult if I didn’t like the look of the place, she explains.

The family brought some personal belongings, clothes, plants, and a few small pieces of furniture with them. Their unique style and personality shine through, especially in their cherished works of art, which were hung up by the Joo Fixer service.

– I have to give credit to the Joo Fixer service—it’s fantastic! When we moved into our previous home, it took us over six months to get our artwork on the walls. It really helps when someone else does it for you, Jenni laughs.

The work of art on the left, which Jenni and her partner have bought together, was brought to Kalasatama from their home in Kallio. – It's actually uncanny how perfectly our old works of art match the Joo Premium interior design. Even in terms of colours it looks like the picture was made for this bedroom, Jenni says.

Overall, Jenni has only good things to say about the Joo team.

– They always respond really quickly to everything, and the customer service is super helpful. Joo Kodit's services for residents are a nice bonus compared to traditional rental living. In a nutshell, living here has been completely easy and carefree.

The surfaces in As Oy Helsingin REDIn Loisto, completed in 2021, still feel brand new. The air conditioning was a real blessing during the summer heat, as the apartment never got too warm. Jenni thinks it’s something her partner would love to take with them when they return to Kallio.

Jenni likes the high ceilings and sense of space, as well as the way light moves around the apartment. Small details, such as the glass wall between the bedroom and the garden room, multiplies the effect of natural light. The garden room is one of family's favourite places.

Kalasatama has been a pleasant surprise

Jenni, her partner, and Heppu ended up in Kalasatama by chance, but they’ve grown to love the area. The unique feature of Kalasatama’s high-rise buildings is the direct lift access to the Redi shopping centre. On rainy days, there’s no need to search for an umbrella just to pop out for groceries. Jenni praises the great services at Redi, which include supermarkets, restaurants, clothes shops, a pharmacy, post office, and library. From Redi, it’s also easy to catch the metro or a bus.

Despite its urban feel, Kalasatama has nature close by. In the summer, locals enjoy morning swims in the sea, paddleboarding, and kayaking. Jenni and Heppu’s evening walks often take them to nearby Mustikkamaa, where they meet lots of other dogs.

Heppu has made so many new friends in the neighbourhood.

Living in Helsingin REDIn Loisto also comes with great shared amenities for residents, including a communal laundry room, sauna, gym, lounge, and a reception service that greets guests and handles deliveries. The roof terrace on the 32nd floor has a barbecue area and sun loungers, offering stunning views over Helsinki.

If a company wants to show their employees they really care, offering a home like this would be a great negotiating tool.

Nearly any of Joo Kodit’s 8,000 rental apartments can be customised into a Joo Premium home. If you’re looking for business accommodation for your employees, find out more here.

The apartment on the 9th floor boasts amazing sunsets. – It’s fascinating to watch how the light changes as the seasons shift. I have about a million photos and videos of sunrises and sunsets, Jenni reveals.
